Day 1 of the field trip of the MSc Programme in Earthquake Engineering and Infrastructure Resilience of the University of Bristol Engineering in Athens. Amazing visit at seismic isolated complex of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Cultural Center which hosts the National Opera and the National Libraty. Grateful to Christos Giarlelis, one of the key members of the structural design team, for a most informative educational tour and the opportunity to reach the level of the isolation system which comprises 323 friction pendulum type isolators (SIP).  Special thanks to Nikos Polemikos (Facilities Director), Stella Athanasiou and Christos Sigalas for accommodating the visit and to Flavia De Luca for co-leading the trip.
