Warm thanks to the Organizing Committee of the International Conference for Engineering Innovation and Seismic Mitigation of Bridges for the kind invitation to deliver a talk along with prominent colleagues from USA, Canada and Japan in Hangzhou, China. The Conference was held at the West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the G20 summit took place in 2016. Zhejiang University is one of the leading in China with an impressive laboratory for large-scale testing including a wind tunnel and a rig for dynamic railtrack-soil interaction.
