We have 3D-printed a concrete house unit directly on the shaking table to test its seismic capacity for the first time!
This well-coordinated and technically demanding 3D-printing procedure was completed as part of the EU-funded research project ERIES: Engineering Research Infrastructures for European Synergies, and the subsequent Transnational Access project SAFE 3D-Printed CS.
We are now patiently waiting for the concrete to cure, then shake it to the desired intensity.
